(Watson) Fisher, daughter of George W. Watson and Eunice (Brown) Watson, on 18 October 1898 at Sonora, Tuolumne Co., California, 95370; Eunice Fisher worked at Priest Hotel. James Fisher lived in Big Oak Flat. The two did most of their courting walking between Priest Station and Big Oak Flat.      Gertrude Dix Postlethwaite was born on 26 January 1875 at Ohio.1,2 She married William Charles Postlethwaite, son of J. C. Postlethwaite and Louisa (McClung) Postlethwaite, in 1899; In the 1900 census, Gertrude and William are in Kansas living as a couple with no children. In 1930 Gertrude declares that she was 24 at her first marriage. We therefore conclude that they were married in 1899, probably in Kansas but possibly in Ohio since William's mother was from Ohio. Gertrude Dix Postlethwaite died in 1940 at Canyon Co., Idaho.1
     Gertrude Dix Postlethwaite was also known as Gertrude Dix.3

    The DeChaines lived east of the intersection of Hwy 120 and Wards Ferry Road near the Big Oak Flat post office, just off the Hetch Hetchy Railroad grade.

    Big Oak Flat resident Forrest H. DeChaine died Saturday at his home. He was 81. He was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon and had lived in Big Oak Flat since 1986. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a police officer for the Oakland Police Department for 20 years and was a member of the Oakland Police Officers Association.      George E. Watson was born circa 1859 at California. He was the son of George W. Watson and Eunice (Brown) Watson. George E. Watson married Nellie (Smith) Watson on 24 June 1884 at Tuolumne Co., California.1,2 George E. Watson was buried in 1937 at Divide Cemetery, Big Oak Flat, Tuolumne Co., California; Oak Grove Cemetery.3 He died in 1937.3
     George E. Watson also went by the name of Eddie Watson He was George Edward, and called Eddie by his family -- probably to differentiate him from his father who was also George.4 He witnessed the death of Eleazer Green L.
