    Former Moccasin resident Carlton Lee Brown died Feb. 2 in a Modesto care home. He was 91.
    Mr. Brown was served in World War II in the U.S. Navy, 4th Battalion Seabees. Following his service, he was employed with the City and County of San Francisco, Hetch Hetchy Water and Power in Moccasin. He retired after 28 years and moved to Modesto, where he lived for 30 years. He loved to travel and was very proud of the fact that he had visited every state in the country.
    Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 62 years, Teresa Brown; his son, Sam Brown; daughters Nora Acton and Julie Canfield; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and two great- grandsons.
    Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.

     Loren G Bright was born on 27 September 1924 at Brown Co., Indiana.1 He married Virginia (Casey) Bright on 14 July 1962 at Santa Clara Co., California.1 Loren G Bright died on 1 July 2013 at age 88.3
     He was an aeronautical engineer with NASA's Ames Research Center at Moffat Field between 1963 and 1998 at Mountain View, Santa Clara Co., California. He retired as Director of Research.4 He lived circa 1968 at Groveland, Tuolumne Co., California.5

    Mr. Bright was preceded in death by his of wife 44 years, Virginia Bright, in 2006.
    He is survived by his children, Molly Bright, of Concord, and Chris Bright, of Groveland; sister, Juanita Moberly, of Indiana; granddaughter, Megan McFalls and her husband, Greg, of Illinois; and two great-grandchildren.
    A private family services have been held.

    Kathleen Mary "Kay" "Nan" (Giello) Brown, of Groveland, died Dec. 10 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 91.
    Mrs. Brown was born in Schenectady, N.Y., where she met and married her husband of 51 years, Harold.
    They moved to San Jose in 1970 and from there moved to Pine Mountain Lake 11 years ago. He preceded her in death in 2002.
    Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. Her family said she enjoyed crafts and reading. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 791 of San Jose.
    She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbie and Joe Olivera, of Groveland; her son, Richard Brown, of San Jose; a granddaughter, Jennifer Olivera, of Livermore; a brother, John brusa, of New York; Joanne Quirt, whom Mrs. Brown regarded as her daughter, of Redwood City; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
    A memorial will be announced at a later date. Inurnment will at Oak Grove Cemetery in Groveland. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.
