     Uriah Hupp was born on 17 January 1831 at Monroe Co., Ohio.1 Although he is not named among any of the contemporary accounts of the explosion of the steamer Harry Dean, Uriah Hupp was apparently on board and is said to have died on 4 January 1868 at Gallipolis, Gallia Co., Ohio, at age 36. No records found to date to indicate whether he was a passenger or crew member.2
     He and Eliza E Hupp appeared on the census of 1860 at Enoch Township, Noble Co., Ohio.1

She retired to Pinole in 1994 and lived there for 18 years before settling in Pine Mountain Lake six months ago. Mrs. Colombini was involved with the AARP and a senior center in Pinole.

    In addition to her husband, Mrs. Colombini was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances “Pepper” Clark, James E. Haddican and Blanche L. Kuhl; and son, Robert E. Colombini on Sept. 1. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Connie and Dennis Scott, of Groveland, John R. and Venus Colombini, of Groveland, and Sam D. and Anita Colombini, of Sparks, Nev.; grandchildren, David Scott, Steven Scott, Shon Colombini, Michele Colombini, Ashlee Colombini, Brian Colombini and Daly Colombini; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews, including niece, Stacie Selmi, who helped care for her before her death.

Mr. De La Vara was born in Guaymas, Mexico, the son of Rosaria and Isauro De La Vara.

He served as a lieutenant in the Mexican Navy from 1949 to 1950 and attended the University of Mexico City.

He moved to Tuolumne County in 1965. He worked for Louisiana-Pacific in Sonora for a number of years before retiring. He settled at Pine Mountain Lake in May 1982.

He enjoyed singing, dancing and entertaining.

Mr. De La Vara was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cathryn De La Vara, of Pine Mountain Lake; his sons, Juan De La Vara, of Waterford, Rene De La Vara Jr., of Redding, Irving De La Vara, of Los Angeles, and Dean De La Vara, of San Diego; his daughter, Libby Contreras, of Mexico; grandchildren, Margaretta De La Vara, of Marysville, Michael De La Vara, of Hawaii, Alicia De La Vara, of Washington, Alexis De La Vara, of Redding, Jonathan De La Vara, of Redding, Lexi De La Vara, of Waterford, Sunol Narito, of Waterford, Max De La Vara-Fischer, of Groveland, Lars De La Vara, of Mexico, Signe De La Vara, of Mexico, Martine De La Vara, of Mexico, and Luis De La Vara, of Mexico; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Nesler died Friday morningat the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, according to hospital spokeswoman Phyllis Brown. She had battled breast cancer since 1994.
    Nesler made headlines when she shot Daniel Driver five times in the head in a Tuolumne County courtroom during a bret in his preliminary hearing for allegedly molesting four boys, including her then-6-year-old son William, at a Christian camp.
    Some hailed for for exacting her own justice, while other condemned for for taking the law into her own hands.
    Nesler was convicted of voluntary manslaughter, but her 10-year sentence was later overturned because of jury isconduct.
    She cut a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to manslaughter and get out after serving three years because she had breast cancer.
    The case became a 1999 TV movie, "Judgment Day: The Ellie Nesler Story" on the USA Cable network.
    After the shooting, the Nesler family remained entangled in the legal system. In 2002, Nesler was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to selling and possing methamphetaine. Outside the courtroom, she maintained her innocence, saing she felt she couldn't get a fair trial in Tuolumne County.
    She was released from a woman's facility i Chowchilla in 2006.
