Frederick Hetrick was born on 7 September 1787 at Pennsylvania. He was the son of Jacob Hetrick and Lydia (Shaffer) Hetrick.1,2 Frederick Hetrick married Elizabeth Doverspike in 1809 at Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.3 Frederick Hetrick died on 27 August 1874 at Washington County, Nebraska, at age 86; CAUTION: There appear to be two different people named Frederick Hetrick in Find-A-Grave, both attached to the same DAR patriot. One is buried in Nebraska, the other in Pennsylvania. Without a direct check of both graves and related data from the local communities, it is not possible to judge the accuracy of either Find-a-Grave entry or to know which burial is for the Rev War patriot.
-----------------------------
from the Nebraska burial posting --
"I am well aware that the marker says Frederick was 103 years old. However, the family Bible record that has been accepted by the DAR as proof of his birth lists his birth year as 1787. In that same Bible, and in his Revolutionary War pension papers, Frederick's father gives his birth year as 1763 making it impossible for Frederick to have been born anywhere in the 1771-1774 time frame and I WILL NOT change the birth year on this memorial."4 He was buried at Colby-Morley (Arlington), Polk Twp, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.5
