    pg 249 - Del Gilliam of Groveland often told about how cold it got on the locomotive when he was carefully shoving the rotary through snowdrifts. Once when Les helan came back to relieve him, his glove remained frozen to the throttle. He remembered one particularly bad trip, when the track was icy and they did a lot of slipping. One the way back the Plymouth ran out of gas at Buck Meadows. The temperatue wa six above zero as the crew walked over to Big Oak Lodge and carried gasoline back to the locomotive.
