    Born 7 June 1915 in PawPaw, Michigan and departed this life on 11 April 2006 after a brief illness.
    He was the first of eight children born to Hay and Goldie Goens. Mr. Goens enjoyed unusually good health and was still managing his construction company until early this year, never wanting to retire. He is survived by his wife, Ursula Goens, and two daughters; Caolyn Britton and Pamela Reimers and his son-in-law Walter Reimers; four grandchildren: Danny Reimers, Mathw Reimers, Antionette Mara and Cindy Mullins, as well as four great-grandchildren; a brother Donald Goens; a sister Dorothy Jenkins, and many nephews and nieces.
    Mr. Goens and his wife, Ursula, moved to Pine Mountain Lake over 20 years ago, re-establishing his construction business in this community. He was an active and much sought after builder, building many homes and remodeling homes in the area. He also built the Library/Museum in Groveland in recent years. Kenneth was a member of the Historical Society and South Side Seniors in Pine Mountain Lake.
    While a boy gowing up in Michigan, he worked with his faher in the family barber shop, and Kenneth had the distinction a the age of twelve of being the youngest licensed barber in the state. During WWII he held a position at the Packard Motor Company in Detroit, later working in various industries and is credited for having invented a machine which produced styrofoam cups. He later found his way into general building construction, holding one of the oldest licenses on record and continued building for over fifty years.
    Mr. Goens also studied music and never lost his love for many forms of music. During his early years, Kenneth, with his brothers and one of his sisters formed a musical group and were much in demand as entertainers in southwest Michigan.
    Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 18 3:00 p.m. at Evangelical Free Church in Groveland, California. Private burial in Oakgrove (sic) Cemetery, Groveland. Franklin & Downs - Colonial Chapel, Modesto, California. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Historical Society or South Side Seniors.

Hi Dino. Just read your message about your Segale family. My husband has a John Segale that was born in 1852 in Italy (where?). and his father was Dominico who married Rose Gabarino in Italy.
John was in Coulterville,Mariposa County California by 1880 when he married Mary Castegneto (spelling?)
The family lived near there where there were many different Italian family's.They also lived near Moccasin in Tuolumne Co. Calif. which is very near Coulterville and Sonora.
Any connections???? Sharon. He appeared on the census of 1920 as a 21 year old boarder in the household of Albert Millard Gookin and Rose (Segale) Gookin at Tuolumne Co., California. Americas worked as a brakeman. His type of work was described as "tunnel", undoubtedly tunnel construction for the Hetch Hetchy system. Americus is known to have worked on the construction of Priest Tunnel, which was well underway in 1920; 1920 Census of Big Oak Flat, Tuolumne Co., CA

Real Problem:
I do not know from where the two sons James and Louis are derived;

I have looked at the census page that is quoted:
ED 167, 1910, Page 7A

The last entry for a son could be either John or Louis, as your interpretation might indicate. I do not see anything that looks like James to me. We have 9 children and Marilyn Roberts who wrote the book says 7. She does not have either James or Louis listed and after reading the 1910 census, I would delete them from the family. But then who was born 1894??????? I will contact Marilyn and see what I can figure out.
