Margaret McGrath Rosasco of La Grance died Tuesday, April 29. She was 96. She was born in Butte, Mont. She started teaching piano lessons after high school in San Francisco, and attended San Francisco State Teachers College and earned her teaching degree. For 12 years, Mrs. Rosasco was a substitute teacher at local elementary schools. She also created many musical productions. She married her husband, Joe, in 1941, and continued to reside on their cattle ranch for more than 60 years.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sally Lowery of Lafayette, Louise Cunningham of Martinez and Nona Rosasco of Smith River; a dear friend, Roswita Murrieta of Merced; eight grandsons, Trey Jones of La Grange, Steven Jones of Anchorage, Alaska, Joe Jensen of San Jose, Will Mcdaniel, Billy Lowery of Orinda, Bob Lowery of Madison, Wis., Michael Lowery of Twin Harte and J.P. Lowery of Newberg, Ore.; and two granddaughters, Lisa Jensen of Coulterville and Joell Sayre of Carson City, Nev.; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph C. Rosasco, preceded her in death by 17 years -- he died April 29, 1986.
Her youngest daughter, Robyn, also preceded her death.

James J. Rolston of La Grange died Tuesday, May 7, at his home in Don Pedro. He was 93. He was born in Wroxter, Ontario, Canada, and had lived in Miraga since 1968. He lived in Don Pedro for one year. He worked as a self-employed real estate broker for 35 years. He loved the mountains and the rivers. He married his wife, Maxine, in 1976.
