Maynard E Lutts Sr. was born on 30 March 1925 at Huron Co., Ohio; per Ohio Birth Index, 1908-1965 at Ancestry.com. He married Georgee Darlene (Robinson) Lutts circa 1948.2 Maynard E Lutts Sr. died on 16 June 2011 at Susanville, Lassen Co., California, at age 86.3,4
He was Mel Lutts was the pharmacist in Groveland by 1977. The pharmacy occupied the old meat market (currently a real estate office) fronting on Hwy 102 opposite the old Red & White Market, later Tiano's Market, by 2014 the Helping Hands Thrift Store. Coincidentially, he had moved from Palo Alto where he worked at Midtown Pharmacy -- the pharmacy we used prior to moving to Groveland. Mel could be a real curmudgeon, but in the absence of either a physician or EMT in Groveland, he was the nearest thing we had to a medical professional. He took his role seriously. He was known to fill a prescription outside of regular business hours in an emergency, or to call out of area or even an out of state doctor to authorize a badly needed prescription. His generous and caring heart won out over his curmudgeon moments for most residents. [BStevens, 2014] He NEED -- additional, including obituary, for Mel Lutts. Maynard E Lutts Sr. also went by the name of Mel Lutts. Maynard E Lutts Sr. was also known as Maynard Eugene Lutts.5
