    Longtime Tuolumne County resident Dorothy C. Barker died Jan. 10 at a Modesto assisted living center. She was 95.
    Mrs. Barker was born in San Francisco and attended Girls High and Business College. In 1949, she moved to Tacoma, Wash., with her late husband, Harry Aced.
    In 1954, she moved to Moccasin with her late second husband, Alex Cooper.
    She later lived in Soulsbyville until 2001, when she moved to Modesto.
    She was involved in many social groups, especially the Sonora Emblem Club and Terry Hall's ceramics classes, and participated in many scenic bus tours. She was a member of and active volunteer for the Humane Society of Tuolumne county, and drove for Meals on Wheels.
    She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Aced, Alex Cooper and Fred Baker; her parents, Hugo and Bertha Hart; her brother, Raymond Hart; and two nieces.
    Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter, Diane Coffman, of Pacheco, Contra Costa County; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan Aced, of Modesto; grandchildren and spouses, John, David and Lisa Wieczorkowski, Elizabeth Aced Arnett and her husband, Douglas, Thomas and Kele Aced, and Daniel Aced; and great-grandchildren, Kaiya and Trevor Aced.
    A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 13880 Joshua Way, Sonora. Remembrances may be made to the Humane Society of Tuolumne County, P.O. Box 830, Jamestown, CA 95327, Community Hospice Inc., 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356, or a charity of choice.
