    Doris E. Martinez, 63, died Wednesday, July 23 at Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Joseph and Nettie Long King and was reared and educated in the Arvada and Clearmont areas. On Feb. 14, 1971 she married Louis G. Martinez in Casper. Mrs. Martinez had been a waitress in various Wyoming restaurants and clubs including the old Beacon Club, the Legion, the Wrangler and LaBonte Hotel in Douglas. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Bill Bodle of Rio Vista, CA and Phillip Bodle of Powell; six daughters, Jo Ireton of Seattle, Charlotte Travitz, Cheryle Takemire and Clarice Zaffarano, all of Casper, Corrine Lorenz of Gillette and Carolee Chapman of Coos Bay, OR; one sister, Betty June Gillette of Farmington, N.M.; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Bobby Bodle. (Information was obtained from her obituary in the Douglas Budget July 31, 1986 and cemetery records.).

     Hannah Bodle reported to researchers that Hugh was born in 1878 at Nebraska.2,3 Yet the 1885 Nebraska census gives his birth date as on 25 February 1881, adding that he was born in at Barada, Richardson Co., Nebraska. In the 1900 census he is living with two uncles and his grandmother and listed as age 18 born in 1882.4 Hugh Bodle was the son of Martin Harris Bodle and Mary Elizabeth Naysmith.1

Hugh Bodle married Josephine (Hetrick) Bodle, daughter of Phillip Martin Hetrick and Evanna (Mock) Hetrick, in 1909 at Burwell, Garfield Co., Nebraska.2,3

Hugh Bodle died on 13 October 1965 at Powell, Park Co., Wyoming, at age 84. He is buried at Park Hill Cemetery in Powell, Wyoming.1,3
     Hugh Bodle was also known as Hugh P. Bodle.2 At least one online source says that he was of Irish and Cherokee ancestry, but we have not been able to confirm the Cherokee claim.

Hugh Bodle appeared on the census of 1885 as a 4 -year-old son in the household of Martin Harris Bodle and Mary Elizabeth Naysmith at Muddy Precinct, Richardson Co., Nebraska; Nebraska State Census.5 Hugh Bodle appeared on the census of 1900 as an 18 year old unmarried nephew in the household of James Bodle at Barada Pct., Richardson Co., Nebraska. Here his birth date is given as Feb, 1882.6 Hugh Bodle and Josephine (Hetrick) Bodle moved in 1918 from Nebraska to Buffalo, Johnson Co., Wyoming; See entry for Hugh Bodle at http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/a/t/Selma-V-Watloms/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0008.html.     Response from Leah Bodle Babcock: Judy, My father, was Joseph Gerald Bodle, named after his uncle Joseph Robert Bodle. Dad was born on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, they traveled to Oklahoma then back to Nebraska. Dad died in 1976. I live in Nebraska about 60 miles from Fall City.      Phillip Bodle was born on 12 November 1941 at Sheridan Co., Wyoming.2 He was the son of Marvin Bodle and Doris (King) Bodle.1 Phillip Bodle died on 20 December 2009 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah, at age 68.2

     Robert Wayne Bodle was born on 25 June 1943 at Livermore, Alameda Co., California.3 He was the son of Marvin Bodle and Doris (King) Bodle.2 Robert Wayne Bodle died on 27 December 1944 at Igloo, Fall River Co., South Dakota, at age 1.3
