Mr. Meagher was born in Fresno, the only child to Alfred and Eugenia Meagher.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He worked as a surveyor for the City and County of San Francisco for 28 years and worked on the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir project.
He enjoyed gardening, eating breakfast at Sal’s Restaurant, and spending time with his family and friends.
He also enjoyed spending summers in Cherry Valley, and spending time on Mount Bullion and his ranch.
Mr. Meagher was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Meagher; and sons, Tim and Pat Meagher.
He is survived by his granddaughters, Amber Chambers and her husband, Bob Jaekle, of Mariposa, Shannon Meagher Marcus, of Arizona, and Ashley Meagher, of Atwater; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 4985 Bullion St., Mariposa. A potluck reception will follow at Building A of the Mariposa Fairgrounds, 5007 Fairgrounds Road.
Mariposa Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Joseph Herbert May was also known as J Herbert May. He lived in April 1940 at 2509 Seventh East, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah; per 1940 census, Lived in same residence in 1935. Although he listed his occupation as farmer, the family did not live on a farm. J Herbert had completed 2 years of college.

Doris Wilding Love May, passed away on Jan. 2, 1991 in Hemet, Calif.
She was born May 20, 1905 in Salt Lake City to Eleanor Wilding and Stephen Hunter Love. She was the 11th child in a family of 12. She married Joseph Herbert May on May 31, 1928. Doris then spent her life in Salt Lake City, Rupert, Idaho and Hemet, California. She served an LDS mission to the Eastern States and later served with her husband in the Southwest Indian mission. Doris was an excellent teacher for many years as well as homemaker and active church worker. She was much loved and respected be her family and loved ones.
Mrs. May is survived by her two daughters, Marjorie May Ward and Betsy May Campbell; two sons, Paul and Douglas May; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, Jan. 7, 1991 in Hemet, Calif. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 12 Noon, Jan. 10, 1991 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
