She was born to Guy and Vernie Coffey of Portland, Ore., and was one of 15 children. She and her husband, Charles DePaoli, owned numerous business in Tuolumne county from the 1950s to the '90s, including the Wagon Wheel restaurant and Louver saloon in Sonora, the Buggy Wheel tavern in Jamestown and the Bees Nest tavern in Groveland.
Mrs. DePaoli is survived by a brother, Clayton Coffey of Portland, Ore.; a son, John DePaoli of Santa Fe; a daughter, Lisa DePaoli of Santa Fe; two grandchildren, Scott and Sarah, both of Santa Fe; two sisters-in-law, Rose Ronten and Clara DePaoli, both of Modesto; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1996.

Richard Morris Dowler Sr. died May 6 at his Chinese Camp home. He was 83.
Mr. Dowler was born in Los Angeles. He was a truck driver for American Forest Co. for 30 years, and lived in Chinese Camp for 29 years.
A small airplane pilot, he built his own airplane. He was also an avid horseman, his family said, and was a volunteer firefighter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Dowler, in 2004, and a son, Richard M. Dowler Jr., in 2006.
He is survived by four daughters, Valerie Dowler, of Chinese Camp, Lisa Watson, of Concord, Laura Porpoise, of Jamestown, and Kathleen Bookman, Ohio; one son, Randy Wright, of Diamond Bar in Orange County; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Chuck Dowler, of Camarillo; and a siter, Eleanor Harding, of Washington state.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chinese Camp Cemetery.

Helen Drummond, 89, of Groveland died Thursday at a Modesto hospital.
Born in Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Drummond had lived in Merced from 1957 to 1992 and in Groveland for the last seven years.
She had been a waitress at Vernon's Drive-in in Merced and enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Drummond is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James "Tuck" and Marie Deshaies of Groveland; three nephews, Herb Davis of Sonora, Ed Davis of Reno and Bill Nolan of Fort Bragg. Mendocino county; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marie Deshaies; and five children, Yvette Deshaies, Rebecca Deshaies, Al and Megan Deshaies, Larry and Suzanne Moore, and Bill and Amy Rozak; eight grandchildren, Jessie Booth, Mitchell Osborn, Leza Price, Van Carpenter, Randy Heath, Courtney Deshaies, Jay Repetto and Renee Beckett; and six greatgrandchildren.

Groveland resident Shawn T. Dunne died Nov. 28 at Lake Don Pedro. He was 42. Mr. Dunne was born in San Francisco and worked as a building contractor. He lived in Groveland for 13 years and enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, skiing and basketball.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Dunne, in 1978.
Mr. Dunne is survived by his wife, Joann Dune, of Groveland; his mother, Janet Curtin, of Groveland; his daughter, Jessica Skinner, of Groveland; his stepdaughter, Sabrina Mally, of Groveland; his grandparents, Ivan and Marie Trapp, of Klamath Falls, Ore.; his brother, Joseph "Jay" Dunne and his wife, Amelia, of Redding; his sister, Susan Vanderschans and her husband, Greg, of Coulterville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including Nichole Vanderschans, Stacy Vanderschans and Alyssa Vanderschans, all of Coulterville, Mika Dunne, of Redding, Joe Dunne, of Tacoma, Wash., and Melissa Dunne, of New York; and his stepfather, Tim Curtin, of Citrus Heights.
