Former Groveland resident William Kateley died Saturday at his home in Loomis. He was 92.
Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he had lived in Groveland for 20 years. He worked as a printer for 42 years. He was a member of Prescott Community Church in Prescott, Ariz., Garrotts Lion Club of Groveland and the South Tuolumne County Historical Society.
He enjoyed fishing, target shooting, metal detecting and gardening. Most recently, he lived in Loomis for the past four years.
Mr. Kateley is survived by his sons, Malcolm Kateley, of Campbellsville, Ky., and Gordon Kateley, of Loomis; brothers, Walt Kateley, of Naples, Fla., and Robert Kateley, of Pittsfield, Mass; a sister, Nancy Gyurasz, of Naples; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wendy Kateley in 2005; a son, Kenneth Kateley in 2006; and brothers, Lawson and Jack Kateley.

Former Groveland resident William Kateley died Saturday at his home in Loomis. He was 92.
