     John Beavers was born in 1823 at Virginia. He married Elizabeth (Hawkins) Beavers in 1847. John Beavers married Ruhannah (Cochran) Beavers, daughter of Jacob T Cochran and Martha (Dilliner) Cochran, in 1858.1 John Beavers died in 1893 at KS.1 He was buried in 1893 at Burlington and Adgate Cemetery, Ottumwa, Coffey County, Kansas.1

Mr. Beavers was married in Indiana, in 1848, to Miss Elizabeth Hopkins, a native of Virginia; they have one child -- Sarah. Mr. Beavers was married again in 1858 to Miss Ruhannah Cochran; they have three children -- Jacob W., Ankah and Edwin O. Mr. Beavers is a member of the Old School Baptist Church.

Sarah and Samuel, listed as children of Ruhamah and John- are the children of John and his first wife- Elizabeth (Hopkins). Married in 1847, Elizabeth was born in 1828 and passed away in 1856.
They also had: George, Mary, and Susan.

In 1858 John married Ruhamah.


Elizabeth is now connected to John on find a grave.

The three children of John N. and Elizabeth (Hopkins) Beavers-
George, Mary, and Susan are next to Elizabeth in New Lancaster cemetery, Tipton county, Indiana.
Each stone has them listed as parents.

I believe since they passed away at young ages and their son Samuel passed in 1878, that was why none are mentioned in John's obit (Sarah was still alive, hence her being listed)...

Neosho Church was organized on Saturday before the third Sunday in May 1866, by a council consisting of Elders Samuel Billings, Stephen Harlan, and William F. Jones. The charter members were as follows, viz., Elder Hiram Harlan, Henry Richards, Cicero Wilkinson, Jane Wilkinson, Mary Wilkinson, Ormino Harlan, Thomas Reed, S. A. Reed, John D. Judd, Mary J. Judd, John Beavers, Ruhama Beavers, Arthur Veach, and Mary Veach. A new building, with seating capacity for about 450 persons, was completed late in 1896, at Ottumwa. Pastors included Elders Hiram Harlan, Henry Richards, W. F. McCormick, and J. M. Preston. He leaves a wife, two little children, an aged mother, a brother, a sister and many friends to mourn his untimely death. On Dec. 30th his remains were deposited in the Evergreen cemetery. His parents were among the first settlers of this county. The exemplary life of them and their children needs no comment. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the community. Sad indeed is the death of one so young and promising.1
