Walter Coyle was born circa 1842 at Ireland.1 He was born before 15 July 1843 at Ireland; Birth date estimated based on age at Voter Registration.2 He was the son of Charles Coyle. Walter Coyle married Mrs. Anna Coyle between 1870 and 1873; Walter was single in the 1870 census. In 1880 he was married with a 7-year-old daughter.3,4 Walter Coyle died after 1880.1 He died between 1920 and 1930 at Richmond Co., New York; Guesstimated -- Walter appears to be the father of Mary A. Enderes in Richmond Co. NY 1900-1920, and disappears from the record after 1920. Probably died and buried Richmond Co., NY. There also appear to be more than one Mary Enderes' of about the same age in Richmond Co. -- search for Walter in the census to find the correct Mary A.1
Walter Coyle was also known as Walter Coyle.1 He immigrated in 1850 to Staten Island, Richmond Co., New York, from Ireland. He appeared on the census of 1 June 1860 at Port Richmond Post Office, Middleton, Richmond Co., New York.5 He was Letter to Mr. Rehm written from 2900 High Street, Oakland CA and dated Nov 1966 states that there was mention (after his naturalization in 1867) that Walter Coyle ran a hotel in Big Oak Flat for awhile. after 1867. He was naturalized on 15 July 1867 at Sonora, Tuolumne Co., California, 95370. These were the so-called "second papers", containing no information other than that citizenship was granted.6 He was on 15 July 1867 at Tuolumne Co., California.7 A Walter Coyle appeared on the census of 1870 in the household of Charles Coyle at New Dorp, Middleton, Richmond Co., New York. While no clear documentation links this person with the Walter Coyle who was naturalized in Tuolumne Co. California in 1867, other information suggests that he may be the same man. The 1860 household included newlyweds Mathew and Margaret Coyle. Mathew and Margaret went to Tuolumne Co., where Mathew died in January 1867. Mathew's known brother Hugh lived in Tuolumne Co; both men named a son Charles, presumably for their father. Walter is not in California in 1870.8 Walter Coyle and Mrs. Anna Coyle appeared on the census of 1880 at Edgewater Village, Middletown, Richmond Co., New York.4,1 Walter Coyle Justice of the Peace - 4, including Walter Coyle in 1886 at Middletown, Richmond Co., New York.9 He appeared on the census of 1 June 1900 at 93 Grand Street, New York City, Richmond Borough, New York.10
