He was 24 years of age and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Goldsworthy, who was Miss Mamie Gerken. Their marriage occurred last September. The funeral will occur Saturday in Big Oak Flat. Other census records and his marriage date all support the later date.2,3,4 He married an unknown person on 6 April 1863 at California.2 He married Catherine (Harney) Long on 6 April 1863 at California.1 John Long died on 13 July 1911 at Chinese Camp, Tuolumne Co., California.2 He was buried after 13 July 1911 at St. Xavier Catholic Church, Chinese Camp, Tuolumne Co., California.1
     He immigrated circa 1853 to United States from Ireland.      James J McCormick was born in June 1855 at New York.2 He was the son of Patrick McCormick and Catherine (Gilmartin) McCormick.3 James J McCormick married Mary E (Aldrich) McCormick circa 1881; At the 1900 census, James and Mary had been married 19 years, suggesting a marriage date in 1880 or 1881. They were likely married in California. James J McCormick died on 8 July 1923 at California at age 68; He probably died in Calaveras Co., likely in Copperopolis where he is buried.4
     He James may be the son of Patrick McCormick who was age 80 and living with a grandchild next door to James McCormic at the 1900 census. Patrick was born in Ireland Feb 1820, came to the US in 1847, and was naturalized in 1853. He listed his occupation as Farmer. The grandchild living with him was Thomas P. Cassanova, born Aug 1886 in California. His mother was born in California, but his father was born in France.      John Gilmartin McCormick was born on 31 January 1894 at Copperopolis, Calaveras Co., California.1 He was the son of James J McCormick and Mary E (Aldrich) McCormick. John Gilmartin McCormick married Mayme (Gerken) Goldsworthy McCormick Lee, daughter of Herman Henry Gerken and Elizabeth (Long) Gerken, between 1920 and 1930; Not in Tuolumne County Marriage Registers published by TCGS. John Gilmartin McCormick died on 29 June 1966 at Martinez, Contra Costa Co., California, at age 72.2 He was buried in July 1966 at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo Co., California; Although there is no indication, either with a tombstone or in county records, that McCormick is buried at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Dr. Repashy's informants indicated that he is buried here. In fact, there is a tombstone for him at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.3
