    Winnie Marie (Scofield) Ladyman, age 77, of Sacramento, passed away on Sept.
    12, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Winnie was born on
    Jan. 25, 1939, in Livermore, California, to Raymond Bright and Martha
    Elisabeth Scofield of Big Oak Flat, California.
    Winnie graduated from Sonora Union High School in 1956. She then went on to
    graduate from Heald business college and enjoyed lifelong success working as
    a secretary and office manager for the state of California and various
    private companies. Winnie had a very strong work ethic and was highly
    regarded by her employers, earning many awards of merit.
    Winnie worked hard throughout her life, maintaining a career while raising
    three children, and later devoting many years to caring for her beloved Aunt
    Thyra and Uncle Ted in her home.
    Winnie loved spending time with family, her career, traveling, and having a
    glass of wine. She was an excellent seamstress and an outstanding cook. She
    was a beautiful person, inside and out, and was adored by her family and all
    who knew her.
    Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Bright and Martha
    Elisabeth Scofield.
    She is survived by her brothers, Darrell (Betty) and Charles (Sharon)
    Scofield; her children, Tom, Rich (Aileen) and Thyra Ladyman; her
    grandchildren, Whitney (Tyson), Rich Jr., Lisa (Mike) and Ted; her
    great-grandchildren, Stella, Juliet and Kate; and many nieces and nephews.
    A celebration of life ceremony will be announced at a future date.

     David Alexander was born in 1826 at Cala, Scotland; No Cala, Scotland as city, village, hamlet, etc. May refer to Cala Burn Farm east of Moffat, or to Crailoch (farm) south of Herensford, Ayrshire where an Alexander family was found in the 1841 census. This family included a David Alexander which is a potential match for the David Alexander who lived in Big Oak Flat. Note that Sydney Daniels' obituary gives Davd's birthplace as England.2,3 He married Martha (Haight) Alexander, daughter of Moses Haight and Elizabeth (Hamilton) Haight, on 14 October 1854 at Tuolumne Co., California.4 David Alexander married Martha (Haight) Alexander, daughter of Moses Haight and Elizabeth (Hamilton) Haight, on 15 October 1854 at Sonora, Tuolumne Co., California.5 David Alexander was buried in 1896 at Coulterville Public Cemetery, Coulterville, Mariposa Co., California.6,7 He died in 1896 at Coulterville, Mariposa Co., CA.8

    She is survived by her husband Ray Scofield of Big Oak Flat; two sonos Darrell of Big Oak Flat and Charles of Grass Valley; a daughter Winnie Ladman of Sacramento; brothers James Alexander of New York and Connie Alexander of Las Vegas; a sister and 11 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending at Heuton's Memorial Chapel.

     Joseph Benjamin Segale was born on 31 October 1892 at California.1 He was the son of Giovani Segale and Maria (Castagnetto) Segale.1 Joseph Benjamin Segale married Elizabeth (Varain) Segale, daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Alexander) Folsom Varain Trujillo, on 7 March 1914 at Sonora, Tuolumne Co., California.2,3 Joseph Benjamin Segale died on 4 May 1941 at Tuolumne Co., California, at age 48.1
     Joseph Benjamin Segale was also known as Joseph V. Segale.4 He appeared on the census of 27 June 1900 as a 7 year old son in the household of Giovani Segale and Maria (Castagnetto) Segale at 3rd Township, Tuolumne Co., California.5 Joseph Benjamin Segale appeared on the census of 1910 as 17-year-old son Joseph in the household of John Segale and Maria (Castagnetto) Segale at Third Township, Tuolumne Co., California.6 Joseph Benjamin Segale was in 1914 at Big Oak Flat, Tuolumne Co., California.7
