S. Douglas HOBRON, 65, a native of Coulterville, Mariposa county, died at his home in Modesto on April 13th, 1923.
"Duggie" as he was familiarly known by a large circle of friends, was a man of noble qualities. He was honest and just in all his dealings and never failed to relieve those in want or distress. In his death a good man has passed to his reward.
Mr. HOBRON was engaged in the saw mill business in the Red Cloud section for many years, continuing the business that his father had established in the early days.
After his mill was destroyed by fire, he went to Coulterville and engaged in the mercantile business. After disposing of his business in Coulterville, he moved to Modesto with his family and lived there up to the time of his death.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth HOBRON, three sons, Ferris, Clarence and Earl HOBRON, all of Modesto, and two daughters, Mrs. Bell LANCY of Coulterville, and Mrs. Maud BRIDGES of Modesto.
The funeral was held at Modesto on Monday, April 16th, at 2 o'clock p.m. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends followed the body to its last resting place.

Tuolumne county native charles D. Bisordi, 92, died Dec. 15 in Anacortes, Wash.
He was born to Amelia and Narciso Bisordi at the family ranch near Groveland. After graduating from Sonora High School in 1928, he attended Santa clara University and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering in 1932.
His first major engineering jobs were helping to erect the San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate bridges. In 1939 he worked for the Pacific Bridge Co. on the construction of two dry docks for the Navy at Pearl Harbor.
According to information compiled by Tuolumne County Historian Carlo De Ferrari, the docks were nearly completed when the Japanese attacked. His firm was placed under direct control of the Navy, and he was assigned to construct a third, larger dry dock, followed by refloating the sunken battleship Oklahoma.
After completion of these projects he was commissioned a full lieutenant in the Navy and assigned in salvaging operations with the fleet of the Pacific Theater of Operations. His ship was at Okinawa during that invasion and was engaged in assisting ships hit by kamikaze pilots. He later helped clear Naha Harbor of sunken Japanese ships.
Mr. Bisordi was discharged with the rank of lieutenant commander and resumed work on engineering projects in the northwestern United States and Alaska, as well as in Korea, Thailand, Laos and Africa, before retiring in 1975 to live in Dos Palos.
He continued to travel for pleasure in his retirement. His last trips were to Hawaii, the Caribbean and Australia with his family.
Mr. Bisordi was a board member of the Dos Palos Memorial Hospital and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Senior Citizens Club of Dos Palos and the Los Banos Golden Age Club.
He was the husband of the late Peggy Bisordi and also was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Hale.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Bud Ashbach of Anacortes, Wash., two grandsons, Matt and Brian Ashbach; a sister, Delma Donovan of Groveland; a brother, Ray Bisordi of sonora; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. - [S36] Collected Monumental Inscriptions Cemetery Survey, Oak Grove Cemetery District, Groveland Yosemite Gateway Museum, GYGM History Resource Center, Groveland, Tuolumne Co., California, 95321, Divide Cemetery 5:231-b Charles Dominic Bisordi born 13 Sep 1909, died 15 Dec 2001 Cremated.
